Hydrate and Restore Your Damaged Lips
Posted by Rachel Fera onHey Honey, with the wonderful weather and beautiful sunsets we've been starting to see this spring, there's only one thing on our mind: golden hour selfies! There are few greater feelings than the simple pleasure of the way the golden light from the sun bathes us in a warm glow. Whether you like to smile or pout, golden hour selfies always turn out great. However, the one thing that can ruin any kind of selfie is the appearance of dry or cracked lips!
I know some of us are definitely still feeling the effects of the long winter months, so the most important thing you can do for your damaged lips is invest in a good lip balm. One of the best ingredients to look for when shopping for lip balm and masks is shea butter. It's loaded with moisturizing fatty acids that create a barrier on the skin trapping in hydration. Shea butter also contains nutrients that nourish, comfort and protect your lips.
Bésame Mucho, our shea butter and propolis lip balm, leaves your lips soft and hydrated with a smoother texture. The antibacterial and antiseptic properties of the propolis extract provide additional health and cleaning benefits. It can even be applied before bed to be used as an incredibly hydrating and nourishing overnight lip mask!
If you lips are in need of a little extra TLC, we love this DIY lip scrub recipe that's a quick and easy solution that improves the appearance of your lips by getting rid of flakey dead skin. Plus, it's made with ingredients you already have around the house–honey, brown sugar and coconut oil. If you're looking for an even simpler solution, just use raw, organic honey as a lip mask. Leave on for 15 minutes and rinse off with warm water.
We can't wait to see your selfies, honey!
